The MiLB Buffalo Bisons have tapped Sports Construction Group to install new state-of-the-art drainage and irrigation systems and natural grass turf for their home at Coca Cola Field.
The new drainage network will consist of piping that can remove up to 10 inches of rainwater per hour. It replaces a prior system that was more than 20 years old and will shorten rain delays and minimize rainouts.
The field will be topped off with a sand-based playing surface and a Kentucky bluegrass blend of natural turf that is grown specifically for professional baseball. The new turf will be watered by an automated irrigation system.
