The Results: The replacement, monofilament surfaces, “look and respond just like grass. The fields have the ‘true ground’ feel of a natural system – and are absolutely beautiful,” said George Long, Hawken athletic director. “All of our teams like them. I tell the students ‘this is as good as it gets’,” he said. “We chose SCG for the job because we wanted someone with expertise in construction, excavation, drainage, etcetera – and synthetic turf. They know what they’re doing when it comes to a project like this,” said Tony Wanner, Hawken director of facilities and transportation.
