SCG Gives Yankees Firm Footing with New Turf

For Immediate Release - Cleveland, OH - Cleveland-based Sports Construction Group L.L.C. (SCG), a leading constructor and installer of both natural and synthetic athletic sports fields, announced today that it has finished installing sod at the new Yankee Stadium.

“It is thrilling to be a part of this celebrated moment,” said Paul Franks, SCG president and CEO. “The old Yankee Stadium held a special place in the hearts of many baseball fans – Yankees fans in particular - but the new stadium will blow everyone away,” he said.

SCG, based in Cleveland, has nearly 50 years of history in the construction business, and has been building high performance sports fields for more than 20 years, including well known natural turf venues such as Soldier Field, Cleveland Browns Stadium, Notre Dame Stadium, Kauffman Stadium, PNC Park, Shea Stadium, Progressive Field and the New Yankee Stadium.
Additionally, the company provides artificial turf field construction and installation for numerous minor league professional teams, colleges, high schools and municipalities, including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill field hockey facility, Duke University Williams Field, University of Colorado at Boulder Kittredge Field and the state of Washington’s Tacoma Dome.
