Chris P. Franks

Following in the footsteps of his father, Chris began working as a laborer for S.W. Franks Construction Co. then while in high school joined a traveling crew during the summer months.  A graduate of Loyola College of Maryland where he earned degrees in Business Finance and Business Management, Chris has had the opportunity to gain valuable experience both in the classroom and in the field. He worked as a project engineer at Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Baltimore, Maryland from 2007-2008.  Rejoining the company in 2008, his experience in the construction industry has played a major role in the successful completion of multiple major projects, one of which being the New York Yankee’s new stadium where he was the project superintendent. Currently Chris manages all Construction Operations.  


Scott W. Franks

Working his way from the bottom up, Scott started working as a laborer for the company at a young age. Scott has been privileged enough to gain firsthand experience in all phases of athletic field construction, giving him the unique ability to understand each facet of the company.  Currently Scott divides his role between sales, estimating and project managementScott attended Mercyhurst University North East where he graduated with an Associate’s degree in Sports Management while attending MUNE Scott was a member of the NJCAA Lacrosse team.  Scott continued his education at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management while being a part of the NCAA division II Lacrosse program.


Kevin M. Pfeffer

Kevin started working for SCG as a laborer and surveyor’s assistant during breaks from college at Bowling Green University.  Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and Technology, he joined SCG full-time in 2006 as an estimator and project manager.  Since then he has become an integral part of the estimating and project management team.  Over the past several years Kevin has managed all estimating and project management for the synthetic turf division on SCG projects.



George H. Pfeffer

Joining S.W. Franks in 1991, George Pfeffer is one of SCG's long term employees, and overall has more than 35 years of design and construction related experience.  He graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Architecture and has been a registered architect in the state of Ohio since 1981.  He is also a member of the Sports Turf Managers Association.  George has been actively involved in many of the high profile projects throughout the firm's transformation into a premier sports facility contractor and his duties include design, estimating, and project management.


Jim C. Harrington

Field construction is not something new to Jim Harrington. Having worked for S.W. Franks Construction Co. from 1987-1993, Jim rejoined the SCG team in early 2013.  Jim brings with him an invaluable knowledge of the construction industry and the strong ability to mentor and develop skills with the SCG Team.  Jim earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Cuyahoga Community College, and also holds a Professional Surveyor’s License from the State of Ohio. His unique sets of skills are useful in the company’s Estimating and Project Management Departments.


Thomas M. McCafferty

A graduate of John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tom joins the SCG team as its Chief Financial Officer.  Although Tom is new to the athletic field construction industry, Tom has a significant background within the Construction Industry.  Tom brings with him a unique and valuable skill set which is being used to develop and implement The SCG company's strategic plans.
